The Valley Season 1 Finale Recap: Opening Bars, Closing Chapters

Comments Off on The Valley Season 1 Finale Recap: Opening Bars, Closing Chapters

“The Valley” Season 1 finale is here and it’s been a wild ride with lots of fighting between friends and marital issues coming to light. Kristen Doute, who is a “Vanderpump Rules” vet, found herself shunned from the “Valley Cast,” all through reality television newbie Janet Caperna, who vied for the number one girl in the group.

Zack Wickham and Jasmine Goode do some good old-fashioned pottery throwing to dish on the latest gossip. They pretend they’re Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore from “Ghost,” except they have zero sexual tension with each other.

Jasmine, who is back from Big Bear, tells Zack, “I never want to go on a babymoon ever again in my life.” She tells him that Janet was stressed out because he posted a fake geolocation shot of him in Big Bear after not getting invited to the babymoon and thought he was going to go all serial killer on her.

Zack admits he was being petty and says, “If you don’t like me, then f*cking say it. It’s giving shady boots.” He promises that there is going to be a talk about it at Jax Taylor’s bar opening.

Jax Taylor is too busy for Brittany Cartwright

Jax and his wife Brittany Cartwright are working hard to get the bar ready for the soft opening. He thanks her for surprising him with a visit from his sister Jenny. She tells him, “I said, you’re going to be sorry when you’re being mean to me because you didn’t know that I was doing something so special for you that whole time.”

She’s referring to Jax making her seem like an alchy in Big Bear when she barely drank and had an upset stomach. “I made a mistake, I thought you were drunk, I said I was sorry,” he tells her.

“I know that but it can be frustrating and I feel like you don’t listen to me sometimes. I feel like you’re not even attracted to me sometimes,” she answers. He totally ignores her statement.

“I’m just so stressed out. I got the hair thing, I got the podcast, I got the child, the bar,” he complains. Brittany accuses him of putting off having a second kid with her.

“I had second thoughts. That’s normal. Every man in the world has a second thought,” Jax admits. Even Brittany doesn’t think they should have a kid together until they get their relationship straight. Jax has the defeated look of a man white-knuckling it through life.

Kristen Doute backtracks

The reason “The Valley” cast is divided is because Kristen claimed Michelle Lally was talking to another guy who is not her husband Jesse Lally for a whole year. Also, she outed Michelle as a racist Republican, while blaming it on Janet.

As Kristen’s getting ready for Jax’s bar opening, she tells her boyfriend Luke Broderick that she meant Michelle was talking to a guy a year ago. Big difference, KRISTEN. Although, both are still bad come to think about it.

Kristen feels bad even revealing that info but tells Luke, “At the time, Jesse was not being a good husband. He was not carrying his weight in their relationship. So, if I’m going to be honest, I don’t f*cking blame her for texting with someone.”

Michelle Lally gets brutally honest about her feelings

Jesse is telling Michelle about his conversation with Jax in Big Bear and how his friend told him Brittany is ready to walk away from their marriage. “Why, did you think I would never leave you?” Michelle asks. Ouch.

“I just thought you had such strong family values that you would do whatever it takes to fix any problem and not just abandon the problem,” Jesse answers.

Michelle answers, “I’m not abandoning anything. I am trying myself. I am being honest that I lost a lot of those feelings for you.”

“Every time I take three steps forward, she takes six steps backwards and it feels like f*cking sh*t,” Jesse tells the cameras.

She tells him that she doesn’t want to feel dislike for him and he tells her that it can be fixed with her telling him how amazing he is every morning. Basically, Jesse wants positive reinforcement so that Michelle can start seeing how great he is.

In the end, Jesse just wants love. He starts tearing up thinking about when things were good between them.

“I want to be in love with you the way I used to be. But I don’t know if I can,” Michelle says. Jesse looks heartbroken and she whispers, “I’m sorry.”

Jax Taylor opens his bar

It’s the soft opening of Jax’s bar and he’s all excited. He asks Brittany if she wants to do a shot so apparently, it’s okay if she drinks that night.

Kristen comes in with Luke and Janet skedaddles. “If there’s any stress or drama tonight, I’m going to run or waddle as fast as I can out of there,” Janet says in a confessional.

At the party, she questions Jasmine about her pottery session with Zack. She wants to know if Zack actually went to Big Bear like a stalker or if it was just a joke. “No, he was trolling,” Jasmine explains.

Meanwhile, Nia Booko tells Zack that he needs to talk to Janet. He doesn’t think she even wants to but goes up to her.

Janet tries to explain that she didn’t have Jax relay the message that Zack wasn’t invited to Big Bear and she never intended things to go the way they did. Her husband Jason Caperna comes to check in on her and also because he’s a lawyer, he needs to account for what goes down.

She continues to tell Zack that she was going to invite him to Big Bear during their phone call but he got heated so she changed her mind. Janet says that her friends Simon and Jared heard the whole thing and this is when Zack gets mad.

He starts yelling and cursing at Janet, who is like, nope, and gets up. Jason, who we’ve yet to see get mad, tells Zack, “Don’t ever f*cking talk to my wife like that. You think I’m f*cking around? I will wreck you, dude.”

Brittany Cartwright has gosh darn had it

Brittany comes over like, “Hyuk hyuk, everybody havin’ fun?” Clearly no one is. Zack is ranting about Janet’s gay minions with the pink Crocs and Brittany tells him to cool it. “She’s literally like eight months pregnant right now,” she chides. “I don’t care,” he yells.

Michelle jumps in, “You should care! Because if you cause stress among someone, she can literally lose her baby.” Zack doesn’t care and says that Janet is dead to him. He tells Brittany not to get mad about his statement because she wasn’t there when it all went down.

“I’m not getting angry. This is the opening of our bar,” Brittany insists. She just wants everyone to have fun dammit.

“I don’t have the mental capacity for this right now,” she tells the cameras. “I don’t have the mental capacity for this right now,” she tells the cameras. “I’m already going through all these issues with my marriage, just got this bar opened, and now all my friends are fighting. Tonight, I thought a little bit of respect would be had for the fact that this bar is opening and how much work we’ve put into it.”

Jax Taylor attempts to squash it

It’s Jax’s bar opening but Jasmine goes up to him to tell him that he needs to address the drama because he’s the one who announced to the group that Kristen and Zack weren’t invited to the babymoon.

Jasmine tells Jax that Janet is going around saying he shouldn’t have told people that. Kristen agrees that Janet is the problem and tells Michelle that she’s the one who started all the issues within the group.

Jax goes up to Janet and tells her that he was just the messenger. She says, “Be careful with your tone right now, I’m pregnant.” Basically, no one can say anything to her.

“When it comes to Janet, I do feel like she’s kind of this puppeteer,” Zack tells the cameras.

At the party, Jax is telling everyone that he wanted Zack to come to Big Bear. However, he says that Janet manipulated the situation to make it look like he was the one dividing the group.

There’s a break from the drama when Jax gives a speech thanking Brittany for all her help with the bar. She thinks the night was a success despite all the fighting.

Six months later, Jax Taylor and Jesse Lally are single

Before “The Valley” played out on TV, Brittany announced on her podcast “When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany” that she and Jax were separated. Now viewers see it play out in the Season 1 finale of “The Valley.”

Six months after the bar opening, Brittany is seen telling TMZ that she had moved out of her home with Jax. There are also reports of Jesse and Michelle separating.

In a confessional, Jax is playing up his anguish for the cameras. He needs a moment and gets up.

Meanwhile, Michelle visits Jesse with their daughter. Jesse tells the cameras, “Michelle told me three days after we wrapped the cameras that our relationship was over. It made me feel like a f*cking idiot. It made me feel like I was blind and blindsided.”

Michelle says in a confessional, “I finally hit that point where I knew I’m done and I want to move on and I want to get divorced and start my new life. There’s no question whether or not I made the right choice.”

She feels guilt about being the one who pulled the trigger first but feels that she made the right choice for herself and Isabella.

Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright share their version of events

Michelle, Jasmine, and Nia are over at Janet’s house for drinks. She’s already had her son Cameron who is just a wee little peanut.

Jason visits Jax at his bar, and he opens up about his split. “There’s no affairs, there’s no cheating, there’s no abuse. There’s none of that. I’m so triggered and I’m so … my fuse is this big,” Jax says.

Brittany arrives at Janet’s house and they all do a shot. “Lord knows I need that,” Brittany says. Good thing Jax isn’t around to judge her. Nia asks her how she’s doing and she’s not having a good day.

She tells the cameras that things were bad between her and Jax while filming but it got worse once they were done. Brittany ended up leaving Jax and moving into a rental because he refused to leave the house.

“I just feel like that just shows how selfish Jax is, like the fact that I had to move out with Cruz instead of him moving out,” she says.

However, according to Jax, Brittany just up and left him and he was just heartbroken. “I mean I was down in the dumps, crying my eyes out.”

Nia asks Brittany if anything led to their split and she says Jax would drink at the bar and end up hungover the next day making him “mean as a f*cking snake.” Their husbands are scared of them so they’ve never experienced disrespect like that. Nia and Janet are like hells no.

Jax admits to Jason that he needs therapy and has to get help if he wants to save his marriage. Brittany, on the other hand, is mostly done with Jax but only wants to try so that she doesn’t disappoint her family.

Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor talk

Jax comes over to Brittany’s Airbnb and tells her that he made an appointment with his therapist. She asks him when he did so and he tells her the day before. “You made it yesterday before the cameras come up?” she asks.

Brittany tells the cameras that Jax was promising to go to therapy for years but now makes an appointment for the show. “This is all a front. This is what he wants everyone to see and believe that he’s actually going to do these things to change. I bet you money he will not do it.”

Jax says in a confessional, “I did make an appointment but I didn’t go.”

Brittany also brings up how he told the media they were still living together, making her seem like she was lying about their separation. He also went on another reality show and said Brittany had a stroke when he knew it was another medical condition.

“I know my worth and I know I do not deserve to be in a relationship like this,” she says. “What was I thinking, staying with him this long?”
