Ashley Darby and Gizelle Bryant are getting ready to launch their athleisure line GnA. Hopefully, it’ll be a lot better than She By Sheree or Alexis Couture. “The time has finally come for everyone to see GnA in action. And it has been months of stressing about designs, feel and fabrics, and now we can finally share with the world, GnA,” Ashley tells the cameras.
Nneka Ihim and her husband Ikenna Ihim are at the doctor’s to collect his little swimmers for their IUI. They go into the bathroom together so that she can “help” him. It’s all very romantic. The doctor puts his specimen in her and he tells her, “The ball is in your court now.”
Mia and Gordon Thornton have issues to work on
Mia and Gordon Thornton go to couples counseling, which we now know didn’t work. The therapist asks them about the “D” word, which has Gordon confused. They have to tell him that it means “divorce.”
“I am committed to Gordon through thick and thin,” which we now know to be untrue. “And so, when I seek counsel for a divorce, it was because I wanted to outweigh all of my options,” Mia says. She adds that Gordon has been “combative” as of late, not just with her but with their kids and business partners.
Mia reveals in a confessional that the first time she consulted a divorce lawyer, Gordon emptied her bank account. “All the way to the zero and said I can’t leave him. No man or female should ever do that to anybody to try to make them stay. Like, that’s abusive.”
In therapy, Mia says that Gordon isn’t romantic and learned to accept that. Gordon complains that Mia is always on her phone looking at social media when she comes to bed. He shares that when he tries to hug her, he feels like “a bit of a plague.”
The therapist has them look at each other and express what they want. “I need you to make time for me. I need you to be willing to listen to me and don’t make me feel like an afterthought,” Gordon tells Mia. She says, “Okay,” but doesn’t look okay.
Candiace Dillard has her own therapy session
Dr. Ken, who seems to be the Bravo ladies’ resident therapist goes to Candiace Dillard’s house for a session. She tells him she wants to talk to him about her and Chris Bassett’s plans to have kids.
She shared that they were going to move forward and try but then her music career started getting traction and then she found lumps in her breast after a mammogram. “I have to stop thinking that I can’t do multiple things at once,” she told Dr. Ken. The cryangle tissue” comes out.
“I wonder sometimes if I’m using my career as an excuse or if I feel like I deserve to be a mom,” she says. “Are you going to let fear rob you of motherhood?” Dr. Ken asks. “Because it sounds like in some ways, that’s what you’re doing right now. You can ask what’s the most important thing to you at this stage today. What do you really want?” Candiace replies, “I want a baby. I want a child.”
Nneka Ihim gets left out of a photoshoot
The ladies minus Nneka meet up for drinks. Mia announces that she’s doing a spread for Monarch Magazine showcasing women trailblazers and she has been invited to be featured, along with the other “RHOP” cast. However, she has informed Nneka that she is NOT invited because she’s new to the town and nobody knows her, despite being the new Grande Dame of Potomac.
The magazine comes and assigns iconic Black women to the ladies. Gizelle gets Beyonce, while Robyn Dixon gets Mariah Carey. They all prance around in their outfits. Ashley gushes about how doing things like this bonds the group together. Poor Nneka! If only she had moved to Potomac last season.
Robyn Dixon’s new business venture/Gizelle Bryant’s father is ill/Wendy launches her podcast
Robyn and Juan visit a location for their facial spa franchise, Glo30. They crunch numbers and feel good about a new business. She shares that after Juan got fired, she wanted to grow their independence and not rely on a boss.
Robyn reveals that Gizelle’s father is in the hospital with brain cancer and calls her BFF to check in on her. Gizelle tells Robyn that she’ll come back to Potomac in time for the GnA launch.
Wendy Osefo is over budget for her podcast and is so stressed that her hairline keeps moving down. Despite being worried about not having guests previously, she has managed to snag a few prominent women.
The day of the GnA fashion show is here. Gizelle expresses her gratefulness to the team for holding it up while she had to tend to her father. “This is like, a super hard time for me and I’m a little out of it,” she tells the cameras. “Like, I don’t even really know what the hell is going on. And, one thing my dad has taught me is business is business and that’s why I’m here.”
Deborah Williams tries to earn her peach
Karen Huger arrives and gives Gizelle some love. “You can tell she’s been crying,” she says. There’s not enough drama in this episode so Deborah Williams arrives. For those who don’t remember, she’s Ashley’s friend who accused Chris of flirting with her last season. She also said “Happy Eddie” (Wendy’s husband) was smiling at her and was flirty. Wendy does not look happy at her arrival.
Deborah says hi to Wendy, who acts nicey-nicey but tells the cameras, “Ew no. Ew yuck. You see, that’s what we call fake s**t, okay?”
The show starts. Karen is less than impressed with the skimpy clothes and says in a confessional, “All the stuff was cut-out and cute but I think they’re missing the mark. I would have named it ‘Booty Call Night Club Wear by GnA.'” Apparently, she’s not planning on wearing the brand while training with Vernon Davis.
The women eat crab while watching the models strut their stuff. Because only in Maryland would they serve crab during a fashion show. “I don’t understand, what is this?” Wendy asks about the fashion. “Like, I’m sweating looking at them in this,” Candiace responds.
Wendy finds a way to make the fashion about her and reminds the girls about when she got a mommy makeover and was showing off her body, only to have Gizelle talk smack about her hoochie-wear. The show’s over and they all clap, some enthusiastically, others not so much.
Mia warns the others that Gizelle is going through a lot with her father being ill. “Here’s my thing about that. I can wish people and their loved ones well from a distance and that is what I’m going to choose to do,” Candiace says.
“When my mom was having surgery and my mom was in the hospital and you guys were dragging me and my mom in Texas and Gizelle was there making fun of my mother,” Wendy put in.
The group is all having fun and thinks they have wrapped for the night but their mics are still on. The sound catches Deborah coming for Candiace and accusing her of calling her “Sesame Street.” Keiana Stewart tries to step in but Deborah keeps asking Candiace why she didn’t talk smack in front of her face. There’s yelling and the episode is to be continued…
