So many problems aboard the Mustique. As Captain Sandy Yawn is attempting to leave the dock, she asks Bosun Iain Maclean if he sees anyone on the dock to throw their heaving lines. He tells her no over the radio. Iain then sees someone walk over and says, “I see him now. He was hiding.”
This is the second time he’s made that mistake and Sandy is pissed now. “Are you f*cking kidding me? You tell me there’s no port guys and they’re actually there? That’s not settling for me so make sure you look before you talk,” she says.
In the laundry room, Chief Stew Aesha Scott asks Bri Muller about the laundry notebook. Aesha asks if it’s a list of Elena Dubaich’s wrongdoings and Bri admits that she thought the second stew was purposefully hiding shirts to get back at her.
“What the f*ck!” Aesha tells her. “Talk to me before you make a full-on burn book.”
In happier news, Sandy calls Aesha to the bridge and tells her that she’s planning on asking her girlfriend Leah Shafer to marry her. She asks Aesha for help and the chief stew is beyond excited.
The happy doesn’t last for too long and Sandy is mad again when Iain messes up the docking by putting the starboard lines in the water after she tells him not to.
Captain Sandy puts Iain Maclean on notice
After the tip meeting, Sandy talks to Iain privately. She quizzes him on basic docking rules and then says, “Don’t say something until you have 100% confirmation. Because I saw the line in the water. I guess I don’t trust you 100%.” Ouch.
However, Sandy tells Iain she wants to get to a place where she can trust him and he looks happy that he’s not fired.
“To be honest, I think I’m doing all right but apparently I’m wrong,” he tells the cameras. “She’s trying to I guess, build trust and push me to my limits to see how far she can push me.”
The delulu is real. No one thinks Sandy is pushing him for the sake of it. She just wants a decent bosun with situational awareness.
Joe Bradley has jumped ship
Party time for the “Below Deck Med” crew. Everyone’s dressed in their finest whites (not their uniforms) and as soon as they get to the restaurant, Joe Bradley is flirting hard with Elena. Bri is not happy.
She makes a lame attempt at breaking up their conversation by asking Joe who dropped a bottle of wine while getting out of the car. He goes, “Huh?”
Joe then asks Elena if she’s a cat or dog person. “I’m a rabbit person if anything. I love bunnies,” she answers.
“I had a bunny,” Bri jumps in. “Snowy.” This is too cringe for words. At this point, she and Elena are just competing for Joe’s attention and he’s enjoying every minute of it.
At the other end of the table, Gael Cameron’s boyfriend wants to talk but she tells him she can’t because she’s having dinner with the crew. He texts her that he knows where this is heading and breaks up with her.
Gael runs off and Aesha comforts her. Nathan Gallagher is sorry, not sorry about their breakup.
Backseat shenanigans
At the club, Elena and Joe make out. “I’m not jealous. If you want to hook up, hook up. Fine,” Bri says in a confessional. “It just gets annoying when you do it right in front of me.”
Fortunately for Bri, they’re considerate enough to make out behind her while in the van going home. “I just don’t understand why they have to rub it in my face like that,” Bri mutters on the boat.
The next morning, Bri tells Elena that she’s not mad about the makeout sesh but asks her not to do it in front of her next time. It’s a reasonable request.
Elena is pretty chill about it and says, “Thank you for saying that and I won’t do it again.”
Margs and Mojitos
Time for new charter guests! They are going to put the stews to work. One wants a margarita “well-shaken” and with lemon. Another wants a mojito. There’s going to be a lot of muddling and shaking.
“If you can’t get it right, I’m going to come over and take over,” the guest says. “Nikki used to be a bartender and she can tell,” another tells Elena.
The mojito lady doesn’t like her drink so Elena offers to make her another one. “I mean, we can just sit here and keep trying all night,” the guest named Stacy says. Elena shakes her cocktail shaker desperately.
Sabotage on the high seas
While the guests are exploring Greece, Elena and Bri are stuck on the boat. Before they come back, Elena tells Bri that she hasn’t cleaned the guest cabins but is going on break. Now Bri is scrambling to get the cabins in order and tells the cameras, “I feel like she did that on purpose.”
As she’s furiously cleaning, Bri tells Elena that she could have set up lunch for the guests but instead is now stuck in the cabins.
She asks Elena to leave her alone because she’s mad but gets pushback. “You don’t get to speak to me like this,” Elena says. Bri isn’t listening so Elena orders her, “Stop wiping. We need to talk.”
“Second stew outranks you so that is who I am,” Elena huffs. She threatens to go to Sandy if Bri doesn’t apologize.
As Elena is on her break, Sandy hears Bri cursing to herself. She asks what’s wrong but Bri tells her she can’t talk right now because she’ll cry and the guests are about to come back.
Aesha asks Bri how things were while she was gone and she tells her everything that went down between her and Elena. Aesha then talks to Elena who says, “I got completely berated. So this is what’s been going on with me. She’s going to other crew members, involving other people. She’s just not seeing things clearly.”
Aesha doesn’t know who to believe so she goes to Captain Sandy. Bri and Elena get called up to the bridge and Sandy tells them that if they can’t get along, they’re both getting axed.
