After Elena Dubaich tries to wake up Chef Jono Shillingford to make the guests some food and he says no, she and deckhand Gael Cameron do their best to make grilled cheese sandwiches. The charter guests are tired of waiting for their drinks so they come in and make their own.
They then get tired of waiting for their grilled cheese sandwiches so they go to the galley and help Elena. After eating their cheesy midnight snacks, they finally go to bed right before 3 a.m.
The next morning, Jono stands by his decision not to get up. “Standing up for myself, it’s always been an issue for me, particularly growing up in the closet. So I have to stick with myself and I’m proud of that,” he tells the cameras.
The chief stew Aesha Scott checks in with Jono, who tells her that Elena woke him up. She reminds him that the guests asked for late-night snacks on their preference sheet. He says, “Okay,” and they stare at each other in a standoff. They both agree that Jono should prep something before he goes to bed.
Captain Sandy Yawn talks to Jono in the bridge. She tells him that he shouldn’t be woken up in the middle of the night to make food. She suggests that he make paninis and put them in the fridge for the stews to heat up. What Sandy doesn’t know is that the guests wanted mac and cheese and all that. What if they don’t want paninis?
The Below Deck Med charter guests finally get their rosé
Because of the incompetency of the provisions provider, there’s still no wine on board and the guests want their vino DAMMIT. How are they in the Mediterranean without some fermented grape juice?
“It can’t be that hard!” a guest says. “You’ve got every right to be grumpy,” Aesha tells them. The crew is lucky that they’re dealing with 20-something-year-olds who have yet to learn how to complain for real. They whine a bit but are otherwise harmless. Imagine if Jill Zarin was on the boat, they’d never hear the end of it.
Sandy sees a big yacht behind them and suggests that the deck team go and beg them for some rosé. The bosun Iain Maclean sends deckhands Joe Bradley and Nathan Gallagher to procure the wine. After some wheeling and dealing, they managed to get 5 bottles of rosé for almost $400. The superyacht captain must have been a pirate in his past life. At least the guests are happy.
Bri Muller struggles with the laundry
Bri Muller is very green and went to a boarding school with laundry service so ironing clothes is all new to her. The guests are missing clothes and they complain to Elena.
Meanwhile, Bri is overwhelmed and starts crying. “I’m f*cking trying my hardest,” she sobs in her cabin.
Elena asks Aesha if she’s aware of all the missing laundry. “Nawwrr,” Aesha says. “So one of the guests is missing a pair of pants from yesterday. He’s told it to Bri, I think she’s on it,” Elena tells her.
Aesha tells the cameras that she knows Bri needs guidance but doesn’t want to keep harping on the third stew because it’ll come off as nagging.
While doing laundry, Bri finds the pants in the corner of the laundry room. While they’re in the dryer, Elena comes in and tells her not to have them dry on warm air because they’ll shrink. She then tells the guests that the white pants a guest was looking for have been found and are air-drying. He looks relieved.
The guests depart and it’s party time
The guests leaving is the favorite part of the “Below Deck Med” crew because that’s when the tip is revealed. Despite the lack of provisions and wine, the youngsters have left a generous tip of $15,000, which amounts to $1,250 per crew member.
They all get ready for a night out and Nathan is immediately gaga over Gael. “She has a boyfriend but I owe no loyalty to anyone,” he says in a confessional.
During dinner, Joe is flirting with both Bri and Elena. “He knows exactly what to say, what to do, how to look,” Bri tells the cameras. “He’s hot so that helps,” Elena says as well.
Gael opens up to Aesha about her long-distance relationship with her boyfriend. She doesn’t exactly trust him 100% with other girls in the yachting business. Nathan is eavesdropping and is gleefully sipping his drink.
As the crew leaves, Gael is seen telling Nathan, “I haven’t given you a strawberry yet. Can I do it tonight?” Say, whaaat?
It seems to be an inside joke that the two share and Nathan tells the cameras, “A strawberry is just a wee bit of fruit that we share.” A producer asks, “It’s not a euphemism?” Nathan laughs cheekily and answers, “You’ll eventually find out.”
Methinks Gael’s boyfriend is not going to like where this is going. It turns out, she and Nathan plot to meet up somewhere the cameras won’t be and it looks pretty sketchy! “Maybe I like him a tiny bit. Maybe I just want to like, hand out with him,” Gael says in a confessional. Players gonna play!
