Summer House Season 8 Reunion Part 1 Recap

Comments Off on Summer House Season 8 Reunion Part 1 Recap

“Summer House” Season 8 had many ups and downs, and the cast is here to rehash all the drama. The two newcomers, West Wilson and Jesse Solomon, brought a new dynamic to the group. However, one had a hard start but ended the season a winner, while the other was a fan-favorite who disappointed.

The reunion starts and all the women look amazing with their toned abs. Andy Cohen jokes that they’ll turn him straight. He then gets straight to the point about what this season really is about: Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard ending their engagement. “I want to say on behalf of America, I am so glad you’re not getting married.” Everyone agrees.

Carl Radke vs. Lindsay Hubbard

Andy refers to the moment Carl breaks up with Lindsay on camera and asks if that was his intention at the time.

“No, I walked into that apartment to get on the same page with my fiancée where we had been fighting and in conflict. I wanted to try and talk to her,” Carl says. “I had hoped that maybe it would go differently.”

Gabby Prescod’s face says differently. “I don’t think Lindsay thought that this was, like, going to be a breakup conversation,” she says.

She explains that the night before Carl broke up with Lindsay, she got a text from production and assumed it was going to be a reconciliation conversation, given that their wedding was going to be filmed.

Lindsay jumps in and says she asked Carl the next morning why they were filming again. “For 45 minutes straight, Carl popped off on me, was screaming at the top of his lungs,” she tells the group.

Carl interrupts to argue that he wasn’t screaming. “You can’t treat people like that, Lindsay. It’s not accurate,” he gaslights her says. “You need to own your behavior.” However, according to her, he told her that if she didn’t change, he was going to cancel the wedding.

Then, to make himself look like the good guy, Carl points out that after he broke up with Lindsay, he still paid for half of their apartment for over a year. He also brings up that he spent over $125,000 for their wedding. “You canceled the wedding. You want a pat on the back for that?” she asks. “Maybe a high five,” he answers. Poor Carl needs so much validation.

The truth comes out about Kyle Cooke’s flower boy position

One of the biggest moments of “Summer House” Season 8 was Carl asking Kyle Cooke to be his, um, flower boy. In a confessional, Carl hinted that it was Lindsay who didn’t want Kyle to be a groomsman and suggested he be demoted to a flower boy.

At the reunion, Kyle states that he had no expectation that Carl would give him an important role at his wedding, especially given their contentious summer the year before. Kyle also pointed out that Carl has a lot of really close guy friends who he appointed as groomsmen. However, he wasn’t expecting to be relegated as a flower boy, which is what you assign to a four-year-old.

Lindsay then inserts that she had nothing to do with Carl’s decision and that she would have been perfectly okay with Kyle being his groomsman. She tells Andy that she and Carl agreed on nine groomsmen and bridesmaids, given his large amount of bro friends.

“I then said, ‘Okay well, what about Kyle, Luke, and Andrea? Like, we need to do something with all of the ‘Summer House’ guys,'” she recalls. When she asked Carl what he would do if one of his groomsmen backed out, he said he would pick Andrea. Kyle looks hurt.

“So, it was a complete lie to go into the confessionals and Carl saying, ‘Well the reason that I didn’t have Kyle as a groomsman is ’cause Lindsay doesn’t want him as a groomsman’ … and then even in that confessional saying, ‘Well, we didn’t actually have that conversation.’ It was just a complete lie,” Lindsay says.

Carl Radke and Kyle Cooke talk about their friendship

Kyle says he was a bit hurt to be made a flower boy, which is understandable. However, he understands where his friendship with Carl was at that point.

Carl tells him that he wanted him to be a groomsman but he had too many other bros who had more seniority. “And that’s how we landed with the flower boy.” He apologizes to Kyle. “I should have fought harder and stood my ground and really expressed how I was feeling.” Carl is still making it seem like Lindsay bulldozed him into not letting Kyle be a groomsman. She calls him out.

Lindsay asks, “Fought harder to … what? I didn’t fight you on anything about who your groomsmen were.”

Amanda Batula jumps in to say that she understands if Lindsay doesn’t want Kyle in her wedding party after the way he spoke about her last season. Kyle’s like, thanks, and everyone laughs.

Paige DeSorbo accuses Lindsay Hubbard of sabotaging her photoshoot

Paige DeSorbo and Lindsay had been getting along this season, despite their history. Paige was even one of the “Summer House” girls who comforted Lindsay after Carl broke off their engagement. However, Paige reveals that Lindsay allegedly tried to sabotage her photoshoot, which she learned from Carl.

Carl claims that he heard Lindsay and a friend talk on the phone talking smack about Pagie’s photoshoot. Lindsay says it never happened and Paige doesn’t buy her story.

Paige then alleges that the other “friend” was Danielle, who had also leaked to the tabloids that Craig Conover was so drunk at Kyle and Amanda’s wedding, that he was kicked out. Flashback to Lindsay telling Paige that Danielle did in fact leak the story.

Lindsay’s excuse for outing Danielle was that she wanted to clear her name but it just made her look like a crappy friend. And now, Paige and Amanda think Danielle looks like a weirdo leaking stuff to the press while on a reality show.

Danielle, on the other hand, is upset that Lindsay didn’t tell her about throwing her under the bus as soon as it happened, making her look like an idiot.

West Wilson played Ciara Miller

Ciara Miller is literally the hottest Bravolebrity, but for some reason, she keeps choosing the wrong guy. “Summer House” fans had high hopes for West, as he was funny, goofy, and self-deprecating in a loveable way. However, as the season progressed, his unwillingness to commit to Ciara gave major red flags.

We finally find out what happened post-season. West explains that he and Ciara were seeing each other until December when they had a talk. Ciara clarifies that it seemed more serious than he thought it was. She met his parents and brother and went to a wedding with him, which is totally relationship vibes.

However, according to West, they never put a label on it. Ciara looks at him with disappointment in her eyes, which he has to live with forever.

When Andy asks West if he was sleeping with other girls during the summer, he says yes, despite him saying otherwise this season. May his mustache catch on fire and burn to a crisp.

Ciara thinks West glommed onto her as a “Summer House” newbie but ran as soon as he got famous. This is when West starts sweating. He tries to explain that he didn’t know how to navigate female fans while in a relationship but he ends up looking like a douche.

“Kyle does it all the time,” Amanda says. “Kyle’s off on Loverboy events hugging women and kissing babies and I’m happy at home.

In the end, West didn’t want to commit to Ciara and she’s clearly heartbroken over him. His stock seriously went down with “Summer House” fans.
