Sai De Silva and her husband David Craig are shopping for some organic produce to grow at their upstate home because lord knows how expensive fresh fruits and vegetables are. Sai’s aunt Sufia is coming to visit and she’s finally ready to do something with her mom’s ashes.
David suggests keeping some of the ashes in an urn upstate and then planting some with a tree. Sai thinks it’s a great idea to honor her late mom.
Meanwhile, Jessel Taank is planning her “Clueless”-themed birthday party but her husband Pavit Randhawa is totally clueless about the movie because he’s never seen it. Whatever.
There can’t just be one Cher Horowitz look, however, and Jessel is planning on multiple outfit changes. “Why can’t you just wear one?” Pavit asks. As if!
Ubah Hassan and Racquel Chevremont bond
Ubah Hassan has invited newcomer Racquel Chevremont over to show off her painting skills. As an art dealer and curator, Racquel is pretty impressed.
She sees Ubah’s rendition of the American flag and asks about the painting. Ubah gets choked up and explains that Americans see their flag as red, white, and blue, but she just sees gold as representative of a land of opportunity.
“We don’t have a bodyguard, nobody stops us to ask us, ‘Where are you going, where’s your money, where’s your passport?’ The freedom … the freedom this country has. For the longest time, I pray [for] what I have now,” Ubah explains.
When Ubah first started modeling, she had no idea that Black girls were vastly misrepresented and says, “You know before, every agent had only one Black girl.” As a former model, Racquel tells her, “I was that one Black girl.”
The conversation turns to the Hamptons and Ubah’s fight with Brynn Whitfield. Ubah tells Racquel that Brynn was being very condescending toward her during their private talk.
According to Ubah, Brynn told her, “You’re so beautiful, but you know what? The way you act, they’re going to edit you like an angry Black woman.” Racquel’s eyes bug out in disbelief. “I don’t know what Brynn is thinking,” she says.
Sai De Silva honors her late mother
Sai is upstate with her family and she has brought her mom’s ashes with her. She wants to bury some of the ashes with a small tree but can’t bring herself to do it so her aunt Sufia offers to do it. As she scoops some of the ashes with her hands, she tells her sister that she loves her.
Sufia then tells Sai to say some words but all she can say is, “Mom knows I love her. I’m good.” She then adds, “New life. This tree is going to be new life.”
“I want her to be a part of nature. She’s with me, just in a different way,” Sai tells the cameras. “It’s a place where I can go and just feel like I’m with my mom and it’s … a happy place.”
They plant the tree and Sufia goes around hugging everyone. In a funny moment, Sai points out that she’s depositing her mom’s ashes on her family members and they all end the memorial with a laugh.
Brynn Whitfield’s comments about her castmates are clueless
Jessel, Brynn, and Erin Lichy go shopping before the “Clueless” party. Erin picks out grandma clothes like a sweater with floral appliques and Jessel shades her by saying, “You can be a farmer in those clothes.” Sorry, but she shouldn’t be talking while wearing a denim button-down midi dress.
After dropping money on mediocre clothes, the ladies sit and sip some champs whilst gossiping. Erin mentions seeing Sai and Jenna hanging out on Instagram and says, “Now they’re like, best friends?” She adds, “I can’t stand the fakeness …I actually don’t want to be friends with Jenna right now.”
Erin’s beef is that Jenna knows that she’s going through a hard time with her mom’s cancer and that Abe sold all their Bitcoin. Yet, Jenna hasn’t reached out to her and is gallivanting around NYC with Sai.
As for Brynn, she’s sick of Ubah telling her, “No, no, no, no, no,no.” She adds, “We are grown women living in New York City. We don’t act like that.”
Grown women also don’t go around imitating and making fun of people’s way of speaking but here we are.
She also wants a written apology from Sai for how she yelled at her during her party. Flashback to Sai messaging Brynn a heartfelt apology for how she yelled at Brynn during her party. Oopsie, Brynn must have forgotten about that.
“She’s a miserable troll that lives under the Brooklyn Bridge,” Brynn says of Sai. They all chuckle but after Erin got mad at Brynn for calling her “Staten Island,” she should be the last one to laugh at that dig.
Jessel Taank is rollin’ with her homies
What better way to celebrate a Gen X’s birthday than with a “Clueless” party? Jessel is dressed in her pink Cher Horowitz finery and Jenna comes dressed as her father in a button-down and tie with a large brick phone. She pretends to be making very important calls to very important people.
The rest of the “RHONY” cast shows up in variations of the characters and it’s like the mid-90s all over again. They’re all wearing colorful creations except for Rebecca Minkoff who shows up all in black dressed as Emily the Strange.
Erin is still on the Jenna hate train but says, “I have great friends in my life. I’m good and now I don’t even want to invest in trying to be friends.” Thou dost protest too much.
On the other side of the “Clueless” party, Brynn tells Jenna that Erin had a problem with her and Sai hanging out. She plays it off like she’s telling a light-hearted story but it’s sh*t-stirring with a side of a flirtatious wink.
“Just be careful,” Brynn tells Erin. “I am cautious as I am, always,” Erin answers, still holding the brick phone to her ear. Who is she talking to???
Jenna Lyons and Erin Lichy make up
Jenna gets wind of Erin not wanting to be friends with her and tries to hash things out. “I don’t really want to be close to you,” Erin tells her. Jenna looks surprised.
Erin explains that she started feeling close to Jenna but felt cast aside. “How did this end up being my fault?” Jenna asks. Erin brings up how she felt blamed for supposedly calling Jenna “poor” after she paid for her Uber from the Hamptons.
She’s also annoyed that Jenna questioned how Brynn forgave her so easily after Jeff Lewis insinuated that she had a sugar daddy. “That’s when you responded, ‘Oh, that was fast,'” Erin says. It seemed like Jenna wanted Brynn to stay mad at Erin, which was understandably hurtful.
At the heart of this is Brynn coming in between Erin and Jenna. “It’s very frustrating that Jenna kind of believes it,” Erin tells the cameras.
Jenna has no time for this bullsh*t and Erin just thinks Brynn is jealous of their friendship. They agree not to let anyone come between them and just communicate better with each other. Jenna promises to reach out to Erin more and be a better friend.
The “Clueless” party goes on and Jessel changes into another outfit that Cher Horowitz has never worn in the movie. Hopefully, at least it’s an Alaïa. As for Brynn, she has a tanning appointment so she’s Audi!
