Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 Episode 14 Recap: You Are Cordially Not Invited

Comments Off on Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 Episode 14 Recap: You Are Cordially Not Invited

This episode of “The Real Housewives of Orange County” picks up from the last episode where Tamra Judge stormed off after accusing Ryan Boyajian of illegal dealings. Katie Ginella runs after her and asks why she left. Tamra alleges that Jennifer Pedranti knows about her boyfriend’s shady stuff and says, “Ask her about the FBI.”

Tammy Sue should know better than to make damaging accusations after getting sued by Jim Bellino in 2018 for defamation.

Yet, she still goes on her drunken tirade. “And now there’s a lawsuit that’s going on by the FBI about illegal gambling … He’s a horrible human being. There’s an account on Instagram that broke everything down.” If Tamra is getting her news from Instagram, she better have her attorney on retainer.

Katie tells Eddie Judge to take his wife home and he gets up with the sigh of a world-weary man that is just white-knuckling through his marriage.

Shannon Beador is fussy about furniture

Shannon Beador needs patio furniture so she meets Heather Dubrow and Katie at Outdoor Expressions. Katie tries to suggest furniture options but Shannon hates them all.

They finally sit down to talk about Shannon’s Tres Dos Amigas show with Vicki Gunvalson and who says that the last one was sold out. Apparently, there’s a market for rich middle-aged women doing shots on stage and gyrating their geriatric hips.

Jennifer’s house party gets brought up and how Alexis Bellino was acting weird prior to John Janssen going public about his lawsuit against Shannon.

“This isn’t about money. This is about him trashing me,” Shannon exclaims. The fourth wall gets broken when Heather tells her that John likely doesn’t want to sign the non-disparagement agreement in the event Shannon talks badly about him this season.

Katie confirms this by saying, “That’s how he’s thinking, according to Alexis. He wants to respond to the allegations when all of this comes out.”

Emily Simpson uses her powers for good

Emily was an attorney but took a step back from her career to be a stay-at-home mom. However, she’s still using her skills to help wrongfully convicted felons get back on their feet.

She meets former convict Anthony at a menswear store to help him get a suit. “My intent in meeting with you is so that I can help newly exonerated people assimilate back into life easier,” she tells him.

Emily explains how Anthony was charged with attempted murder at just 15 years old. He recounts how his half-brother was the actual perpetrator and didn’t confess to the murder thinking Anthony would get acquitted. Sadly, that didn’t happen and he spent years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit.

“This just goes to show you how decrepit the justice system is. First of all, there’s a lack of expertise when it comes to public defenders sometimes. And also, the problem is with juries actually listening and actually asking, ‘Is this enough evidence to convict someone of a crime?’ Because a lot of times, it’s actually not,” Emily says.

Katie Ginella explores her heritage

Katie is a Korean adoptee who was raised by Americans so she doesn’t have much experience with her culture. The first place to start is Korean barbecue because who doesn’t love grilled meat?

At the restaurant, they try to read the Korean words on the menu and she stumbles through the pronunciation. “I wish I had been introduced to Korean culture a lot earlier. You know, I love that Jenn talks to Dominic about his roots. I never had that,” she tells the cameras.

As they eat all the meat, Katie asks her kids if they’re excited to go to Korea. “I decided for my 40th birthday, I wanted to go to Korea to meet my birth mother. When you’re adopted, your life is this puzzle and the bottom right corner is missing. And when I go back, I feel like that’s moving that puzzle piece to finish that puzzle because then I’ll feel whole,” Katie says in a confessional.

Shannon Beador’s 60th birthday tea party

“The Real Housewives of Orange County” fans know that Shannon Storms Beador loves a theme. She’s hosting a tea party for her 60th birthday and is there early set up before the housewives arrive for her grand surprise.

Heather arrives and wants to talk to Emily about their fight over the fashion show. The two walk away from the group and Emily explains that she was excited to be in Heather’s fashion show. However, when she got there and saw her bigger dress compared to Alexis’ smaller dress, she felt triggered by her size.

Emily explains that when she was given an oversized jacket and realized she was the only one who had to bring her own jeans, she felt singled out as the “bigger” girl. She knows that it was unintentional on Heather’s part but just wants to feel heard.

Speaking of apologies, Tamra arrives and tells Jennifer that she’s afraid of a lawsuit sorry for how she acted at Katie’s dinner. Jennifer tells her that they’ll talk about it another day but her eyes say, she’s done with Tamra.

Shannon Beador gets an unwanted birthday gift

Shannon shows up and tells the ladies to open the gifts she got them and they see a box of tea. She busts open her black dress to reveal a Union Jack dress. The Housewives are all going to London!

Shannon opens presents and the only one worth showing is Heather’s Hermès sandals. Emily gifted Shannon a boudoir photo but who can top Hermès?

A delivery man brings over a huge floral arrangement and Shannon reads the card to find that it’s from freaking Alexis. “Happy 60th. I genuinely hope this olive branch can bring us a fresh start as you begin this new decade. May God bless you with happiness and good health on your milestone.”

This is where Shannon shows a lot of growth because instead of furiously ripping the card into shreds and tossing it into a fire while cursing the day Alexis and Johnny J were born, she politely says, “I have no interest in being friendly with her.”

But also, Shannon is allowed some pettiness and she tells the ladies that she pre-wrote a text to Alexis. “Hello, Alexis. It’s Shannon Beador. I’m hosting a trip to Europe with my friends and I just wanted to make it clear that you are not invited.”

It’s pretty perfect but the other Housewives think Shannon should make it a bit nicer and Katie and Jennifer offer to tell Alexis in person to soften the blow.

Alexis Bellino sees her RHOC orange slip away

Katie and Jennifer are at Alexis’ house and she thinks they’re all going to have a nice little visit. Alexis asks how Shannon liked her flowers and if she’s ready to move on. When Katie tells Delulu Lady that Shannon thinks it’s too late, Alexis dramatically stands up screaming at her ceiling.

The ladies tell her to check her phone and she reads the text Shannon sent about London. “What is she so hung up on?” Alexis asks, genuinely befuddled.

Well, let’s see. How about, your boyfriend, her ex-boyfriend, is suing her for $75,000 and he refuses to sign the non-disparagement clause. Oh yeah, and you also said on national television that John has an incriminating video of Shannon almost running his daughter over on the night of her DUI.

Alexis starts crying dramatically and says she won’t be around the group anymore. “I’m done. This is unbelievable,” she whispers and then gets up to open the door to kick the ladies out.

Katie and Jennifer shuffle outside like naughty children and confer about what the heck just happened before they hastily get into their respective cars and leave Crazy Town.
