Karen Huger RHOP

Good mornting! “The Real Housewives of Potomac” Season 9 is here and the premiere kicks off by addressing Karen Huger’s DUI in March 2024. As reported by People, the reality star was stopped just before midnight and was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

The “RHOP” cast weighs in on the latest DUI during the premiere: “You can do anything you want to yourself. Endanger yourself, but don’t endanger society,” Mia Thornton says.

Ashley Darby states, “We know that Karen has had a DUI before, so I never thought that she would be a repeat offender with something like this.”

The charges came after Karen was slapped with a previous DUI in 2018. Will the Grande Dame never learn?

Gizelle Bryant and Karen Huger have a real talk about the DUI

Karen’s frenemy Gizelle Bryant checks up on her and takes her out to Tally-Ho Restaurant. She tells her that when she learned of the accident, she was shook because she couldn’t imagine anything happening to her longtime friend.

Gizelle then says, “I know you well enough to know that you don’t do stupid stuff. So when I saw all the citations, the DUI, the DWI, I’m like, this is not Karen.”

Karen tells her that she can’t talk about it because it’s a legal matter but says the truth will come out soon. In a confessional, she says, “I think everything that I’m going through contributed to my accident. Grief, marriage problems … everything has something to do with where I’m at emotionally, right now, which was the state I was in during that incident.”

At Tally-Ho, Karen says that after her father and mother died, she didn’t take of herself. Cue the server who just so happens to come by and tell Gizelle that Karen is a repeat customer and she’s never ordered a drink there. Okurrrrrrr. Are we producing scenes already?

Who’s the daddy?

Mia and Gordon Thornton are doing their best to co-parent their two children together after their separation. They go out for a friendly ice cream outing which turns unfriendly fast. Mia thinks she’s done everything to save their marriage but Gordon points out that she shouldn’t have jumped into another relationship so quickly.

Gordon accepts her new relationship with Inc but doesn’t want their son Jeremiah to get haircuts with him. Mia then drops the bomb that Inc wants a paternity test for Jeremiah because thinks for some reason that he’s the dad.

“I’m 100% certain Jeremiah is my kid,” Gordon answers. “It’s always a possibility,” Mia says.

Stacy Rusch makes her RHOP debut

Karen is dress-shopping at her friend Vivien’s store at a local mall and we meet the new housewife, Stacy Rusch. While she’s trying on dresses, Karen notices that she doesn’t have her ring on.

When Stacy comes out of the dressing room, she shares that she’s been separated from her husband for over a year and they’re getting divorced.

In a confessional, she reveals that she met her husband on a flight and he asked her if the seat next to her was taken. This already sounds fake because airplane seats are assigned, we all know that.

Gizelle Bryant throws Karen Huger a hattitude party after her DUI

It’s Karen’s party and Gizelle is throwing her a hat-themed party. Mia has brought her friend Jassy Rideaux, who’s apparently a replacement for her “friend” last season, Jacqueline Blake.

Karen is running late and Jacqueline reveals that they spoke on the phone recently and the Grande Dame was “tipsy.” Gasp!

The birthday girl finally arrives and Gizelle informs her that she has named a non-alcoholic drink just for her. Karen is not going to drink the shade and when it’s time to give her order, she says, “Iced tea, please.”

“I know she can’t help her damn self. She has a disease. It’s called Messy Gizzy,” Karen tells the cameras.

Gizzy gets even messier when she tells the ladies that if anyone gets an “attitude,” they’ll get assigned a hat. There are also special designer hats that Gizelle will gift the women — first is Karen. She gives her a swanky white cowgirl hat called “Hollywood.”

Karen is happy until her DUI comes up and opens the floor for discussion. Jacqueline tells her that she’s happy nobody got hurt and she’s not here to judge her, despite sounding judgy.

Karen takes this moment to throw her weight around and tell the ladies, “What I want to know, and I’m just trying to figure out, who is my real friend. Because this is an opportunity for you guys to swing whichever way you want. I want to see who the real soldiers for Karen Huger is because I certainly don’t want any fake b****es around me.” The Grande Dame has spoken.

The next hat that Gizelle gives out is “The King” and it’s for Mia because she’s “pimpin’ two men.” The shade just keeps coming. Gizelle asks about Inc and says, “So, have you shared him with Jacqueline yet?”

Mia says that she doesn’t and starts sweating like Jordan Peele’s meme. She tries to make her situation all copacetic by telling the “RHOP” ladies that Inc is helping fold Gordon’s underwear when she does the laundry. Ashley’s face says it all.

Jacqueline tries to save her bestie by saying that Gordon was good for Mia but then it backfires when she tells them the relationship was more like a “business partnership.”

Karen calls Mia out for making her messy marriage so public and is concerned for her kids. Gizelle agrees and says that she shouldn’t have brought Inc into the mix.

“There was a mix and there was a mingle,” Gizelle tells her. “There was no mix,” Mia insists. She starts yelling that she shouldn’t be in an abusive marriage and storms out of the party. It’s not a “Real Housewives” episode if someone isn’t crying in the bathroom.
