Lisa Barlow and newbie Bronwyn Newport discuss the Besos party while driving around Salt Lake City. Bronwyn is still bothered by Heather Gay’s friend Britani Bateman calling her fur coat a “costume.” She agrees that Lisa was right to be upset about Angie Katsenevas gossiping about her, and thinks the hair salon owner did more harm than good by trying to mend Lisa and Whitney Rose’s feud.
Speak of the devil. While they’re talking, Angie calls and asks to meet up with Lisa, who says that she’ll call her back after she’s done running her errands. Cool.
They make a pit stop to pick up Heather and then go get Wendy’s like they’re in high school and have nothing better to do. Lisa goes on and on about how Whitney betrayed her by talking about her on a podcast. She then goes on and on about how Angie betrayed her by telling Whitney how she felt about the podcast.
Bronwyn starts making fun of Whitney yelling, “Do you want to see a healed Whitney?” at the party, and states that she almost cried from laughter. “I was like, it’s just so trite, I can’t.”
Heather doesn’t like the sh*t-talking and says in a confessional, “I feel very wary of someone who has such strong harsh opinions about people that they’re just meeting for the first time.”
Meredith Marks shares big news about her heritage
Meredith Marks and her husband Seth Marks already did the gross bubble bath scene last season so this year, their date is a cute cooking session. They’re making shakshuka and when they finish with the dish, they sit down to enjoy the laborious meal that the ehef they cooked together.
As they’re eating, Meredith tells Seth that she’s been thinking about her Jewish heritage and wants to have a Bat Mitzvah for herself. Seth gets choked up and tells her, “It’s fricking beautiful.”
In a confessional, Meredith explains that a Bat Mitzvah is usually held when a girl is 12 or 13 years old but her family never pushed Judaism on her as a kid.
Seth starts crying and tells her how proud he is of her. Then he has to ruin it by saying, “Can’t wait to talk dirty in Hebrew.” It’s still better than the bathtub scene.
Lisa Barlow steamrolls over Angie
Lisa finally deigns to meet Angie after “running errands” but she’s not ready to forgive her for spilling their private conversation to Whitney.
Angie starts the convo by telling Lisa that she left the Besos party feeling ganged up by her, Heather, and Meredith. Lisa points out that the conversations between her and Angie should stay that way. “You say things to me that I don’t share with anybody else,” she says. “And like, that’s what I need to make sure you and I still have.”
“Listen, at times I do feel like I’m trying to do everything to prove that I’m a good friend to you,” Angie says before Lisa interrupts her.
She says that when things are good between her and Angie, something always comes between them. Angie feels like everyone around Lisa walks on eggshells to make her feel like they’re on her side. Lisa can’t be made to look anything less than perfect and says, “I feel like I’m getting labeled and this is where I close off.”
Angie just wants her to allow others to talk without yelling over them and Lisa says too bad, she’s in her late-40s and is not going to change. She keeps getting defensive and refuses to see that she may be the problem, not others.
“If everyone wants to think I’m a f*cking villain and a b*tch and I’m self-centered, I don’t really care anymore,” Lisa states and huffs off.
Whitney Rose and Heather Gay begin hilling their friendship
Whitney and Heather were BFFs during “RHOSLC” Seasons 1 and 2 but their friendship went awry during Season 3. They meet up at a crystal shop after Lisa’s Besos party to hopefully mend things over sparkly rocks.
Whitney says that no crystal could have helped the vitriol at the party and feels like she had been ganged up on. Flashback to Heather and Meredith yelling at Whitney and accusing her of lying about them.
“It was not a gang-up as much as like, we were all saying, ‘Yeah, it happened to me too,'” Heather states. “But you were all saying I’m lying about feelings, not facts,” Whitney responds.
Heather gets that Whitney is on her “healing journey” but thinks that she doesn’t care if she hurts her friendships in the process.
“Bottom line is, I wish you would have stood up for me a little bit more and not piled on,” Whitney tells her cousin third removed. Heather apologizes and Whitney admits that she needs to look at her actions a bit more.
Whitney tells Heather that she’s planning a trip to Milwaukee of all places to host drag queen Trixie’s show and wants to invite everyone, including Bronwyn who she just met up with and apparently is getting along with fabulously.
Not according to Heather, however, who remembers Bronwyn making fun of Whitney during their Wendy’s run. “It does not track,” she says.
Britani Bateman’s relationship is sus
During a game of pickleball, Britani tells Heather that her relationship with Jared Osmand is iffy. She explains in a confessional that she’s twice divorced and met Jared after her ex started seeing his ex.
“Jared found out first and he called me and we commiserated, we trauma bonded over it. And our friendship turned into a romance,” she says.
She seems to think that they’re boyfriend/girlfriend but in a flashback, he’s seen telling her, “You and I have had a very interesting seven months … as best friends.”
According to Britani, that’s not the only red flag. “Jared and I have broken up 16 times,” she tells the cameras. Girrrrrl.
Heather points out that Britani wasn’t divorced long before she jumped into another relationship with Jared. Britani admits that she’s never been single for too long and reveals, “I have totally sacrificed my kids for a man.” She adds, “But it’s my fault. That’s the problem.”
When Heather asks for more details, Britani looks pained and says that she’ll tell her another time. Instead of judging her, Heather understands that Mormons were raised to put their husbands first and she can relate because she’s done it as well.
Lisa Barlow needs a code one removal from this ropes course
Because “Real Housewives” viewers need another outdoor bonding activity, Heather has organized an outing at a ropes course. As soon as Britani walks up, Mary Cosby starts praying that she doesn’t get called “poor” again.
After they get the harnessed, the ladies start climbing but not everyone is having fun. Lisa and Mary are trapped on a ledge and need a “code one removal.”
On another ledge, Heather is on her knees looking like she’s praying to the gods above. When most of the Housewives are on the ground, they look up at Meili Workman.
“I thought Meili was way thinner than that,” Mary notes. She seems to have an issue with those who are larger than a size 00.
The physical part is done and they all sit down for some refreshments. Britani makes a toast to announce that she and Jared are Instagram official. However, Bronwyn points out that the IG post showed the two of them at Costco with the caption, “Sometimes you just have to push your best friend around Costco.”
Mary Cosby goes in on Britani Bateman
“Wait, is this the post? You’re not official,” Lisa says. Everyone agrees and Mary says, “I’m just trying to figure out why do we care?”
Britani calls Mary out for being rude and they start arguing about the “poor” comment. Heather tries to jump in and tells the group that Britani is vulnerable and is going through family issues at the moment. When Lisa asks what’s going on, Britani admits that her daughters aren’t talking to her.
Mary keeps poking at Britani, who doesn’t feel comfortable opening up in front of her. “You need some soul-searching,” Mary tells her. When Britani says, “I’m kind,” Mary answers, “If you’re kind, why can’t you make amends with your children?”
In a confessional, Mary reveals that Britani’s situation is a trigger because her mom neglected her kids for men. Britani feels attacked and starts yelling at Mary. Then, Bronwyn joins in on the fracas and calls Britani “unhinged” for all her comments about Mary being poor and Bronwyn being a “hoarder.”
Heather tries to jump in and defend her friend by accusing Bronwyn of talking smack about Whitney. It falls flat though, because Britani admitted to laughing at Whitney at the Besos party and even told her about it. Womp womp.
After some more yelling, Whitney apologizes to Lisa about the podcast and invites everyone to Milwaukee. If there’s anything the group can bond over, it’s laughing at a trip to Milwaukee. “Schlemiel! Schlimazel!”
