In the “RHOSLC” Season 5 episode 14 titled La VIDA Loca, the cast enjoyed a lovely yacht excursion on the waters of Mexico.
Unfortunately, the fun was cut short when thirsty “RHOSLC” newbie Britani Bateman cut off Lisa Barlow’s recount of spending time with her son Henry. This caused fellow newcomer Bronwyn Newport to jump in and when Britani called her a “f*cking b*tch,” all hell broke loose when Lisa didn’t defend her.
During an emotional moment, Bronwyn explained to the cast members that although she seems tough on the outside, she’s really not and has gone through a lot in her personal life.
Bronwyn then spilled that her husband Todd Bradley had cheated on her and she found out after her daughter Gwen walked in on him texting his so-called mistress.
In a confessional, Bronwyn stated, “The real truth is that my relationship is just as hard as everybody else’s in its own ways and had its very low lows that were very hard for me. This is a side of me that these ladies haven’t yet seen, but I want them to understand that I bleed the same way that they all do.”
On the boat, Heather tries to convince Bronwyn that she’s worth more than how Todd treats her, as she has been in the same type of marriage in the past. The cast left shocked at the admission of the infidelity but during a television appearance, Bronwyn claimed the affair wasn’t as bad as she had made it out to be.
Bronwyn Newport downplayed Todd’s affair
Following “RHOSLC” Season 5, episode 14, Bronwyn made an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” with her husband Todd in the audience. She explained that they made a deal that he doesn’t watch the show but he was aware that she outed his infidelity.
When asked about it though, Bronwyn changed her tune and told Andy Cohen, “A lot of it was a misunderstanding. We have different boundaries. Todd never did anything physical with anybody. It wasn’t a big affair. It was really that I was uncomfortable with how much he was talking to somebody who was very flirty with him.”
She continued, “What I was trying to tell the ladies that night is that I’m insecure. I take things really personally. It’s hard for me and I use that as an example … um, I wish I hadn’t.”
RHOSLC fans are not buying Bronwyn’s explanation
After her “Watch What Happens Live” appearance, “RHOSLC” fans remained skeptical about Bronwyn’s claim that Todd’s infidelity was purely emotional.
A fan wrote on X, “[You] told them VERY CLEARLY that Todd cheated on you! Also that your daughter saw the text. You’re doubling down now girl! From now on I can’t take your ‘honesty’ for real. You were not saying that you’re insecure. I don’t think anyone is buying that.”
Another posted, “She’s backtracking because Todd likely chastised her for bringing the affair up on the show. Bronwyn seems legitimately afraid of that man IMO.”
Others thought the conversation was calculated on Bronwyn’s part and one stated, “Todd hadn’t even seen the episode. In all the years of ‘friendship’ with Lisa she never discusses infidelity. Bronwyn then chooses to talk about ‘infidelity’ on camera and hammers Lisa for not being empathetic? Make it make sense. Bronwyn makes up drama.”
Some believe Bronwyn joined the “RHOSLC” cast as a means to leave Todd and one fan shared, “Maybe there’s some truth to the rumors that Bronwyn is just on this show as part of her plan to file for divorce from Todd.”
Whatever the case may be, Bronwyn’s not the first Real Housewife to fake storylines so it remains to be seen if her drama with Todd is real. If anything, at least her beef with Britani seems authentic.
