Summer House Season 8 Reunion Part 2 Recap

Comments Off on Summer House Season 8 Reunion Part 2 Recap

It’s the second part of the “Summer House” Season 8 reunion and West Wilson is still getting reamed for playing Ciara Miller. “You said you were going to kill him if he hurt her,” Andy Cohen tells Paige DeSorbo. “Not literally because jail scares me. But like, she’s my friend. When she’s done with you, I don’t know you,” she says. West looks nervous and his mustache quivers.

Kyle Cooke jumps in to say that he knows where Westling is coming from, having been a f*ckboi himself in the past. However, he states, “The one thing that I will say like watching back, [Ciara] could not have been more like, clear as day with her intentions. “

Despite hurting Ciara, West says that he doesn’t regret the time he had with her. “I apologize for obviously hurting you and like, I don’t want you to feel like you were … you said you got got earlier tonight and I don’t love hearing that.”

“But my feelings were genuine. I think I just expressed myself maybe too late to you know, figure things out. But I’m sorry overall for hurting you and obviously it’s still painful,” he tells Ciara.

“It’s fine,” she says, even though her face says it’s not.

However, she admits that she still has feelings for West and would give him another chance ONLY if he changed. He admits that he still likes her too. Could there be a chance that West stops his f*ckboi mentality? Maybe not, because during a break, Paige tells Ciara that West only cares about looking bad to fans and gives zero crap about her.

Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula talk about their marriage

Andy pivots to Amanda Batula and Kyle’s marriage, which went through a lot this summer. Flashback to Amanda wanting to move to New Jersey, while Kyle resisted living in the suburbs. Amanda also wanted to start a big-boobed girl swimwear line but Kyle just needed her to focus on Loverboy.

At the reunion, she tells Andy that she and Kyle had been having issues before coming into the season and she was annoyed that he complained about her right out of the gate. Like dude, at least wait a couple of episodes before complaining about your wife.

As for moving to the burbs, Kyle clarifies that he meant that he would move when the kids were old enough to play outside. Amanda says she never heard that from him.

Amanda explains that she and Kyle already rely on her parents to help out with their dogs so it makes sense to live near them but still close to the city. They literally drive three hours to the Hamptons every weekend during filming. New Jersey isn’t that far, bruh.

She then reveals that she was feeling depressed the past year, so not all the fault is on Kyle. “I was checked out. I like, wasn’t really talking to my friends. You know, so when he would come home, like yeah, I was quiet.”

Andy asks why she was depressed and Amanda answers, “I think, you know, it just sometimes comes over you. It runs in my family. It’s not something that’s out of the blue.” She adds, “I could see why he felt lonely because I felt lonely too.”

Paige DeSorbo gets flirty with Jesse Solomon

Jesse Solomon gets put in the hot seat next. He admits that when he first hit on Paige, he knew that she had a boyfriend. He doesn’t look guilty about it at all.

Paige, who accused Jesse of touching her leg at a club this season, says he called her out at the reunion for touching his leg.

Flashback to Paige touching Jesse’s leg not once, but SIX TIMES. We love some shady Bravo producers.

Then, Andy brings up how Paige said on the aftershow that her boyfriend Craig Conover wasn’t worried about Jesse after meeting him. Paige laughs and touches his leg yet again. Girrrrrrl.

On a more serious note, Jesse says his main reason for coming to “Summer House” was to share his cancer story and help others going through the same thing.

Lindsay Hubbard apologizes for her Cocaine Carl comment … sort of

The topic pivots to the biggest storyline of Season 8 — the demise of Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s relationship. Carl says he and Lindsay had some problems going into the house but wasn’t planning on sharing it.

Lindsay says that she felt anxious coming into the season because she didn’t know how the girls were going to receive her. The first night she was there, she drank more than usual and when she got into the car with the guys, she started spiraling because she thought the other girls were going to talk smack about her. “I was expressing that to Carl and I just felt really dismissed in that moment,” she explains.

“There was no dismissiveness. Everything you manifest, it was all in your head,” Kyle jumps in. “I am telling you right now, I’m not privy to all your fights but if this is how they typically go, I now know why they spiral.” Jesse agrees, “It precipitated out of nowhere.”

Andy then asks Carl how he felt about Lindsay calling him “Cocaine Carl.” He says that he didn’t know she called him that until the show aired. “Now, what I’m struggling with in all of that is, you said you were upset and having a tough time. That’s fine. But saying that about something that has clearly been a major problem for me … Accusing me of being on a substance that I’m in recovery from that I haven’t touched in over three-plus years …can cause relapse and even more issue,” he tells Lindsay.

Lindsay apologizes to Carl for questioning his sobriety but says it wasn’t wrong for her to feel dismissed by him. Kyle calls her delusional and she yells at him for cutting her off.

Lindsay Hubbard drops a bomb about Carl Radke’s sobriety

Ciara points out to Linsday that questioning a partner’s sobriety is grounds for a breakup. “Was it wrong of me? Yes,” Lindsay responds. “And I do apologize for saying ‘Cocaine Carl.’ I was emotional, I was drunk, and I was having a conversation. But I do have a lot of questions about what is considered sober and what is considered not.”

She hints that Carl still smokes weed and announces that he did shrooms a week before filming while at a music festival. He looks devastated.

“We took a small microdose together and we actually looked at each other and said, ‘We’re not doing this again,” Carl says.

Everyone attacks Lindsay for outing Carl and bringing up his sobriety, or lack thereof, at the reunion. They question why she’s so fixated on that and she explains, “Any alcohol that I drank was always used against me. I would go out to dinner with a girlfriend and be questioned about how many glasses of wine. I’m like, I literally had one glass of wine.”

Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke talk about their breakup

Lindsay thinks that Carl has been planting seeds all summer to break up with her, particularly when he visited his mom and stepdad Lou and told them about their issues. Andy brings up how Carl questioned getting married to Lindsay on the final day at the summer house. He also points out that she told Danielle Olivera that she had nothing left for Carl.

“How then, were you blindsided by him ending the relationship?” Andy asks Lindsay. She explains that Carl goes from questioning their relationship to telling her that he’s committed to her. Then, three days later, he broke up with her on camera.

“My point is, you committed to a forever by proposing to someone. It shouldn’t just be swept away within two weeks or two months,” Lindsay says.

Carl says he never intended to break up with Lindsay when they had their final talk. He says they’ve shared their lives on camera for eight years and wanted to have a “real-life conversation” with her.

“That wasn’t a real-life conversation. That was you made a decision and you were telling me what your decision was,” she answers. “And, why is your first call to our producers when you’re having thoughts that you want to call off a wedding.”

“If the engagement happened on camera, then doesn’t it track that it could end on camera when you’re on a show about your personal life that you’re getting paid to share with the world?” Andy points out.

Lindsay says that breaking up with her is a big decision that she was blindsided about and tells Carl, “I thought the respect would have gone far beyond this show.” Andy tells Lindsay that he asked production if they knew Carl was going to break up with her and they did not know.

Summer House Season 8 Reunion final moments

Lindsay is going to die on the hill about being blindsided by Carl. She reveals that she’s dating someone that she dated briefly over three years ago and it’s serious. She also thinks that Carl made the right decision to break up with her but doesn’t agree with how he went about it.

As for Carl, he hasn’t even kissed anyone since breaking up with Lindsay. He feels bad about how things went down and hopes they can become friends again in the future. Lindsay says she still needs time to process the breakup so before considering being friends with Carl.

Now that the reunion has ended, it’s time to cut Kyle’s mullet off, as he promised on “Watch What Happens Live.” Andy ties his hair into a ponytail and chops it off with a pair of scissors.

He does a crappy job but Kyle looks so much better. Goodbye mullet and goodbye “Summer House” Season 8.
